This Privacy Policy explains how WordMaster collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the WordMaster mobile application and related support pages.
Summary: WordMaster uses Firebase for authentication and cloud sync, RevenueCat for subscription status, AdMob for rewarded ads, and Groq for optional AI learning content. We do not sell personal data.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide directly
- Account details such as email address, display name, and profile photo.
- Sign-in details when you use email/password, Google Sign-In, or Sign in with Apple.
- Profile and onboarding data such as age range, learning level, goals, native language, target language, study preferences, and struggle areas.
- Support emails you send to us.
1.2 Information created while you use the app
- Learning progress, learned words, favorites, test results, streaks, XP, badges, and settings.
- Leaderboard data such as display name, avatar, and XP if you use social or ranking features.
- Subscription status and entitlement information.
1.3 Automatically collected information
- Crash reports and diagnostics through Firebase Crashlytics.
- Usage events through Firebase Analytics.
- Push notification token and platform details when notifications are enabled.
- Rewarded ad delivery and measurement data through Google AdMob.
- Basic device and app version information required by the services above.
1.4 Microphone and speech data
Speaking exercises use microphone and speech recognition permissions only when you actively start a pronunciation-related feature. We do not claim to store raw voice recordings as part of normal app use.
1.5 AI learning content
Some optional learning modes use Groq to generate short stories or dialogue exercises. The prompts are limited to vocabulary words and generated scene context. WordMaster does not intentionally send your full learning history, scores, or account profile to Groq for these requests.
2. How We Use Information
- To create and secure accounts.
- To sync progress across devices.
- To personalize vocabulary practice and onboarding.
- To show rankings, streaks, achievements, and other learning features.
- To deliver notifications you choose to receive.
- To process subscriptions and restore purchases.
- To serve rewarded ads in the free experience.
- To detect errors, improve stability, and understand product usage.
3. Services We Use
3.1 Firebase
We use Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Messaging, Crashlytics, and Analytics. Firebase stores account data, learning progress, notification tokens, diagnostics, and analytics events.

3.2 Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple
These services let you sign in without creating a separate password. We receive the identity data made available by the provider, such as your email address and account name.

3.3 RevenueCat
RevenueCat helps us manage subscription entitlements and purchase restoration. Payment processing is handled by Apple or Google, not by us directly.

3.4 Google AdMob and tracking permission
WordMaster may show rewarded ads in the free version. On iOS, we may ask for tracking permission before requesting production ads that rely on Apple tracking rules. If permission is denied, rewarded ads may still be shown in a more limited or less personalized way depending on platform behavior and store settings.

3.5 Groq
Groq is used for optional AI-generated stories and roleplay dialogues. If the AI service is unavailable or not configured, WordMaster falls back to local non-AI content.

4. Data Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We share data only with service providers that help operate WordMaster or when required by law.
5. Data Retention
- Account and progress data are kept while your account remains active.
- If you delete your account in the app, our primary app records are deleted or queued for deletion from our active databases as part of the deletion flow.
- Some backups, billing records, crash logs, and provider-side logs may remain for limited periods under the retention rules of Firebase, Apple, Google, RevenueCat, Groq, or other processors.
6. Your Choices and Rights
- You can access, edit, or update profile details inside the app.
- You can disable notifications from device settings or in-app settings.
- You can delete your account in the app from Settings > Account > Delete Account. For security, we may ask you to confirm your sign-in method again before deletion.
- You can restore or manage subscriptions through the store account that billed you.
7. Children
WordMaster is intended for users age 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13.
8. International Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own by the service providers described above.
9. Security
We use standard technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, but no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date on this page.
